Not sure what forum this would fit in so decided to try here. I am looking for a new portable shooting bench. I am 6' 4" with long legs and arms so many of the ones I have tried are not a great fit. Any suggestions on one that might work?

Check this out. Not cheap, but looks solid.

I've used this one for many years, but have had to reinforce it a little bit. It's actually pretty solid. Allows me to shoot sub moa and pesky sage rats, no problemo. Every "portable" bench I've seen at Cabela's or sportsman's has been one wobbly POS....

Don, that’s a nice table. The rifle shelf was a nice touch. You got a weight on it?

Don says he hates you, but the table weighs 200lbs

Depends on what your intended use is, but they can be built to be both sturdy and pretty light.
Mine is similar in appearance to Huntmans, and weighs under 25# with 4 adjustable legs. Ive had the same one for about 30 years.
I have a sling attached to it so it can be carried to some of the more remote places we hunt long range in PA.
It’s just a bench, no shelf for gun storage. If I were to build another for my type use it would have 3 legs with the single leg up front.
I would also make the top narrower in front than the rear, as the width really isn’t necessary in the front as is the rear.
In order to keep the weight down aluminum legs as opposed to steel must be used. Best to use for that is (heavy wall aluminum conduit)
Purchased at a real electrical supply house, not a box store. Size of all pipe is measured I/D not O/D, so 1 1/4” for the outer leg and 1” for the inner leg works well. I used a light gauge 1 1/2”aluminum angle frame under the 5/8” plywood top, and welded 1 1/4 “ conduit couplings in the corners on the proper angle to receive the threaded conduit leg pieces. A 3/4” square block of 1/2” thick aluminum welded onto each leg near the bottom, then drilled and tapped for about a 5/16 bolt will work for the leg adjuster. I used a piece of all thread with a 90 deg, bend for a handle for the adjusters.

Beav, never weighed it. But I did remodel it last year.Even under the cover at the trap range, it had enuff rain/snow blow under to start weathering the inch and a quarter OSB top. So I reshaped and covered with Corian. Should hold up better now....

Looks great huntsman/macgyver. I like the fact that you made it for left and right handed shooters. That new version kicks azz. You could sell them...

Have been using these 6" long folding tables for years. They work great, too.

I used a pair of Rugged Buddy legs and built my own bench with 1" thick plywood. I'm 5' 9" and I cut 1" off the 34" legs.
At your height the 34" legs might be a little short for you, depends on your shooting style.

Years ago I built a portable shooting bench from plans I got out of an old NRA publication. The NRA used to publish a lot of DIY projects such as this. The bench was fun to build and it was a practical design but it probably could have benefitted from a better leg system. Oh well, that's what you get when you follow a design that was intended for acquiring parts from hardware stores in the 1940s and 50s.

I bought this one at DSC a year ago and like it a lot. The legs fit inside it, making it easier to transport.
