If you had to pick one for Whitetail under 150-200 yards AND use the same round for Elk up to 500 yards, assuming both shot the same out of your rifle, which would it be?

I have shot both in my 264 Win Mag and the Accubond groups a little better. I shot them out to 600 yards. I have killed several animals with both and seen no significant difference. So I shoot the Accubonds.
I just bought a 7mm RM and plan to use the 160 Accubond for elk.

I've used the 160 Partition for elk, but the AccuBond may work as well. I'd shoot whatever is most accurate. It would seem either would be fine for deer as well.

If they both shot the same I would pick the one that was priced lower.

Between the ones you posted, I would choose the one that shoots the best in my rifle. Either one will get the job done on whitetail and elk.

Elk = mountains = wind. Shots at 500 in a 15-mph crosswind would have drift about 23 (Accubond) to 26 (Partition) inches. I looked at both to identify if you could use that as a determining factor. Nope. If you can dope 23 inches you can dope 26 inches.

Any concern with magazine length? Throat length? Partitions usually can be seated closer to the lands than Accubonds for good results. Accubonds usually prefer being seated deeper.

Any velocity or pressure difference because of the seating depth difference?

If none of that matters, as noted already, Accubonds are cheaper than Partitions. Never killed a deer with a 160 out of a 7 Mag but we’ve taken several elk with both the 160 Accubond and Partition. They’re both good bullets. Accubonds usually exit, Partitions seem harder to get a sample out of the animal (almost always exit).

The 7-08 with a 180 ELD at a "lowly" 2600fps from sealevel,drifts 17" at the 500yd line. At 5000',the drift is 15". 2150fps impact speed.

The terminal velocity at 500 yards for elk demands a bullet that will open up at a lower velocity. The "softer" front portion of the Partition would seem to be what is needed. For the whitetail at 150-200, either bullet is fine.

Those ELDM bullets have good BC for sure.

There are some cup and core hunting bullets I would not use for elk. Last year I had a shot at 15 yards, those happen pretty often.

I don’t think I’d want to try and put a target bullet through an elk at 15 yards. For longer range if you are good enough to dope 18 inches at 500 you can do it for 26 inches.

If you’re not good enough to dope 18 inches you shouldn’t shoot at 500 in those conditions. Same for 26.

I enjoy the excuses...by those who've never even fhuqking SEEN,let alone used same. Congratulations?!?

Do you "think" a 2600fps launch is going to zook a 180 at 15yds? I mean REALLY,that's what you have "convinced" yourself of? Rest ASSURED,it will outdig the NPT. HINT.

You Droolers are fhuqking HILARIOUS! Copious advantages handed to you upon a Silver Fhuqking Platter and you run the other way,so you can stick to your STUPIDITY. Pass the extry round(s) in the belly, much lesser recoil, shorter length, better handling, reduced weight and greatly increased FUN Factor,if only as starters.

What scope are you using?

Bless your heart for TRYING.

In fairness,I should mention that it takes but 40grs of powder,to arrange same.

You be sure to use whatever "excuse" best satiates your STUPIDITY,just keep saying 'em aloud. Congratulations?!?

Few things funnier, than Droolers TRYING to "talk" rifles and/or bullets.

Bless your heart for TRYING.

If B.C. is all that matters why use anything that is not a Chey-Tac?

WTF, we have been doing rifle hunting all wrong!

Spiller,

The ONLY person that stated: "If B.C. is all that matters",is you...you "lucky" kchunt. Congratulations?!?

Bullets matter wayyyyyyy more than headstamps. Hint.

Is there anything redeeming in NPT Terminal Affects? Nope. Are they easily replicated across a broad spectrum of offerings? Yep. Will a 2600fps launch velocity, cause a .284" 180 ELD to come Unkchunted like you do? Nope.

I VERY much enjoy that both your Melting Snowflake Routine and your STUPIDITY,are certainly NO "act".

Bless your heart for Crying, you Magnificently Whining CLUELESS Fhuqk.

Hint.

LAUGHING!....................
