There is a good sized black bear hanging around my parents house. It’s thin, looks to have some sort of wound on its side, doesn’t move with much purpose and has literally no fear of people. They’ve tried to run it off, they called TWRA and was told not to worry; as it was trying to get on their porch.
It has a tag in one ear and 3 aluminum studs and in the other ear it has 2 aluminum studs.
The tag I understand, any idea what the studs are there for?
When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

I know I’m sure it’s depressed and listens to strange music.
Dad will have it in the garage drinking beer and listening to oldies soon so maybe that will cheer it up.

I'd have to birdshot his backside, move along smokey, and don't come back.

Supposed to bring some rubber bullets tomorrow.

Had to take the bird feeders down again this evening...… 2 young bears started being way bigger pests than the squirrels that had been raiding the feeders.... I had a pissed off humming bird chasing after me when I took that feeder down.
My wife asked me to stand guard while she worked in the garden.... where do you order rubber bullets?
Please don't feed the trolls!

Sad deal. Maybe got hit by a car, an archer, or someone popped him with a 22LR.

I would not let it stick around, but making it someone else's problem does not make sense either.
Which leaves but one option...

It moved away from their house last night to another one up the hill and opened a can of whoop ass on the bird feeders and fruit trees.

Find a hole and bury it... Don't tell anyone, just do it.

I’ve been around a few bears and I’ve never seen one totally unafraid of people.
I don’t see this one making it long.

I'd go on record with the local law enforcement, police, sheriff, or both and with the conservation officer for the area. Be sure to follow up any verbal contact with emails to the people you speak with so that you'll have documentation of the conversations and there can't be any question that you actually made those contacts and reported the problem.
A nuisance bear should be dealt with by the conservation department, trapped and relocated or killed.

Sounds like it's looking for an easy meal because it can't get one on it's own, someone best shoot that bear before it does harm to someone.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

Seeing many black bears on a Cades Cove site with mange. seems fairly prevalent this year.

With ear adornment as described, it's probably a displaced metrosexual oso. Not a bright future, and it would not be part of mine.
