i wouldn't live anywhere else or more than 20 miles from the coast. i love being on the beach taking a nap out in the sun with it being almost a 100 in the afternoon. Loved going to the National Seashore when I lived in CC, TX! Beautiful color of the Gulf very picturesque for sure!

Texas is nothing but miles and miles of plain desert where nothing can live, no matter which direction you go in. And the hot weather and the bugs make life impossible during the summer...........

Unfortunately one of the districts (not mine) elected a Dem representative in 2018, first one we've had in several years. She might get the boot in 2020 though.

Freedom. You don't have to wear a motorcycle helmet. It might be said, you are stupid if you don't wear a motorcycle helmet, but you have freedom to try in Texas. In Alabama, if you see a doe hit by a car, and you take in the little spotted fawn and raise it for a pet, the DNR Swat team will kick in your door, haul your ass off in handcuffs, and shoot the deer with an AR 15. In Texas, you can take in an orphan fawn and raise it for a pet. Yes, if it is a buck, at 1 1/2 years it is liable to gore you, and might kill you. But in Texas you have the freedom to give it a try. I like Texas and if I weren't so settled in North Carolina, I might move to Texas.

Great BBQ & Texmex, good drivers, but 100 days over a 100 degrees and a severe lack of public land and water????? Where are the brook trout? We prefer shiners, mullet, shrimp and sunfish for bait. Probably only 5 or 9 days this summer hit a 100.
