Been a bit since we've had a good boat thread.
Just picked up a little 12' Klamath pond skipper for me and the boys to tool around the local fishing ponds. Had it around the island in the sound as well. Merc 7.5 pushes it fairly well and the Minn Kota is perfect on the ponds. At 2 and 5 years old, the 3 of us do fine it it now. Won't be long before it'll get traded off for a 16-18'er though.
I have an older formula 233 as well. Every year I think about selling it or doing some renovations. Chevy 350 runs like a top, steering gimbal needs work. It's fun to load up and go camping/cruising. Great in some slop.

I found a really cool 16' flat's boat with 70HP Yamaha the other day. Minn Kota too. They wanted $7,500. I was very tempted.

My little adventure boat - Gheenoe 13' 1st photo it has the 6hp yamaha 4stroke on it , straight up the riverbank is the pic of campsite . Henry Shires Contrail tent , CZ 221 fireball rifle . Boat gets about 15mpg going upriver , 16mph top speed in the bay. Bottom picture - new high dollar [rattlecan] paintjob , seat in middle of boat , 2.5hp yamaha 4stroke , it has become my favorite , sips gas , very quiet and weighs 37lbs. . I can sit on the side of the boat lift legs/feet out of the water and can't tip the boat over, the black rub rail will be 3'' above water , I weight 205lbs. . My "last" boat was an original 31 Bertram. I re powered it with Cummins diesels, repainted the hull, added a teak deck, spruced up the cabin - and fished it quite a bit!
Loved that boat. Storm got it.

I’m guessing you have pretty quick access to all types of water? A 17 Montauk would be hard to beat down there, I’d think. Lots of amazing bay boats around now but holy damn, they get spendy quick. Doesn’t seem to be a shortage of overgrown bass boats going for near, or over, 6 figures.

Wow, that's a beauty. Looks like plenty of room and not a lot of horsepower needed to make it run. I have a tiller 25 Johnson, so very close to the 20 you have there. I wish it had at least a 25hp, but the 20hp starts at a blip of the key and runs great, so I'll just keep on running it.

Yes it was a kit from Greg Tatman out of Springfield Oregon... he is no longer in business Ply over frame? I’ve been wanting to build one for a while. Yes plywood sides and bottom over a frame. I built it 20yrs ago so I am not up to speed on current kit manufacturers. But it is a very traditional construction and I am relatively sure the current kits are the same. Many of the tricky compound angle cut's were already done by the kit manufacturer. To build one from scratch is do able if you have good woodworking skills and a set of plans.

We have some boats.
I have some sort of aluminium boat with a seized up motor.
Also a 97 Glastron open bow with a blowed up 4.3 liter Volvo penta.
Mom and dad have a 19 foot Phazer Smoker Craft.
It has a 150 Yamaha 2 stroke.
