Be careful what you read BH and who you listen to. This thread provides all the evidence I need to prove that point.

Just more aoudad blood. I killed over a hundred of the vermin, for free. They're a nuisance to some landowners, and thank God I knew a few that hated them. That's a done deal now though, as those ranches got sold after the LO passed away or grand kids took over.

I have no idea how much sarcasm is (or is not) involved here....but these two statements are as ignorant as those claiming that all hunting in Tejas is from blinds and at feeders.

The one's "job" was managing the family trust. They were nice and kept inviting us down to Austin, saying "we have some really nice lakes down there". I responded with we have some nice ones up where we are, too, in fact we call them "Great Lakes". Texans just think the world revolves around them...

Pocano, i do believe you. People cant believe how thick the crap can get in the west Texas desert in low draws between the sand hills in mesquite thickets. The booner buck i got years ago had to be transported to the side of a sandhill for pics.

I have passed on getting on deer leases around Sweetwater because the ridges were so thick with cedar (mt juniper) there was no way to hunt.

I have tried taking pics of brushy areas in the S Texas brush country to no avail. All the photo shows is thornbrush, no air, like a wall.

The Texan oil field trash in the Bakken also tends to be the most loud and obnoxious, while their big stupid lifted pickups are run off into the ditch after the first snowstorm.

Why would there be Texans in the Baaken? We have oilfield trash from all over the country here because there's not enough workers. Why would they be up there? The Permian is 10 times what the Baaken will ever be.

The bigger O&G companies and service providers such as Shell, Schlumberger, Halliburton, etc. with assets or jobs in multiple major formations will ship their guys whenever and wherever they're needed....and so will the drilling rigs. The Bakken, Permian, Marcellus, Prudhoe Bay, Jonah and wherever else. They've constantly got their workers from other parts of the country, and world for that matter going to various job sites.

Thats just BS fellow Texan. The truth is Texas is huge and the availability around populated areas is far different from those on the outer banks of Hell. So if a person can sustain life in such areas where hunting is available at lower cost and less babysitting then more power to the person.

But the fact is its all true.

And another fact is a man can buy 100 acres of hunting land in mississippi with water, timber, and big deer for less money than several years on a Texas lease and for many Texans who need such its actually closer of a drive than west Texas. Many folk don’t realize how big the state is.
