and the damn thing is not picky at all. Check this out: Some of the first groups. I couldn't find the lands on this one. Has a Linda Lovelace throat, but it doesn't seem to matter. Here are some of its first groups. I haven't done anything to it, except for put a Nightforce SHV 5-20X56 on it... Seems like a damn promising shooter: Here's a pic of the rifle: More recent targets: I only fired off 10 of these in preparation for a centerfire shoot the following day. Here's how she did at that shoot. This in the group I fired with no fouling shots. However, it was slightly fouled from the day before. Barrel was cold though. The loads I was using were short OAL (2.800") so I could use them in the M&P 10 6.5 performance center: I don't think I could be any happier about the performance of this one. She's a keeper... Oh by the way, the performance center shot a 100-8x and a 100-7x as well..... Oh and the lightweight (6 pound) Steven's 200 22-250 performed well that day too: This in a picture of the Stevens from about a month ago.. All in all, a damn good shoot.....
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

How are you liking that Nightforce? At 100 yds, what kind of detail can you see on the target? How long have you had it?

I love the nightforce. The best way to describe it is i have no regrets in buying it. The clarity is the best ive seen. Ive had some other fairly expensive scopes, like Swaro and Trijicon, but sent them down the road. I even like the SHV and NXS better than my buddies s&b PMII. The clarity is just better to my eyes.

better than a S/B says a bit IMHO. My eyes are weird, but to my eyes the Nightforce scopes are both crystal clear.

I think a guy could do a lot worse than a CTR/NF combo. Probably good odds of it working without a lot of fuss. Good shooting there also!
Now with even more aplomb

what bullets are you using over the 4350? I have the same rifle with a 2.5-10 NF on it.

I think I need to get one of those.

I've been running 140 ELD match bullets, because they seem to be a pretty good accurate bullet in my other 6.5's. I've been thinking about trying the scenar's though. Not much to complain about wtih the performance of the Hornady pills though.
