Wow, what a beast!! Congrats! Any stories accompanying it? Can't wait to hear more.
By "conversion" does that mean it was a paper cartridge (percusion) rifle converted to centerfire? For a while I owned a .50-70 carbine that still had the Lawrence primer feed lock plate.

Yes, it is a conversion from percussion to centerfire. Meachum did convert a lot of those old percussion Sharps to centerfire.
