I just moved around a stock from a 1939 BYF 98 that I've had since the early 60's. Again I was looking at those laminations.
What did the Nazi's use for glue to put those things together? I have never heard of one de-laminating. I've never seen in print what they used. So, what was it?

I worked for a laminated beam company for 40+ years, and I always assumed the glue was the same or almost the same as the glue we used which was a two part Phenolic resin. Ours was a reddish color, and had to be spread evenly and then clamped together with several hundred pounds of pressure for at least 12 hours. Also with some heat if
necessary.
I am sure it was nearly the same glue and process.

I don't know what they used for glue on those but I've never heard of one de-laminating. I've had a K98 in one since 1997 and have hunted with it in extreme cold and have had it in the sun at the range on 90 degree days. Never a problem. Maybe an early form of Gorilla Glue ?

It's probably Resorcinol glue. It was introduced in 1943, but everyone knows much of technology appears in the military well before gen pop.
