I put some of my CCI SVs to work at the range on Friday. Great morning for some rimfire projects.

Shot a 25 yard target for one of the matches I run on Rimfire Central; it's called the 25 Yard CZ Open Sight Benchrest Match. Only factory open sights are allowed.

The scoring plug saved a 200. In all likelihood, this still won't win; a guy posted a 200-18X last month.


Not being a slave to the bench, I shot a 25 yard offhand practice target as well. I run a monthly offhand rimfire match at the indoor range I work for. Man, the light is so much better for those open sights in the great outdoors.

I shoot a lot of CCI SV too. That's an interesting trick but I don't see much point in doing it.

At the range I flip the box on its back, open both ends and slide out the plastic tray until it drops 5 or 10 rounds.

In the field I use a Marbles Catch 22.
