One of my buddies recently departed this mortal coil. I bought a couple of his firearms from his widow.

[Linked Image]

One of the pieces is a 12 GA 3" SXS that has rifle sights welded on. Bob picked it up 20 years ago just for the hell of it. As is, it's a wicked slug gun for Ohio deer inside 50 yards. That's probably its original purpose. I'm thinking of having choke tubes installed so that I can do things like make one side super-full and the other modified. Another possibility would be Spring Squirrel, where I'm trying to pick 'em out of the leaves. I'd like to have a choice of MOD and I/C

Nobody around me seems to be able to do choke tube conversions. Any suggestions?

Not all doubles have enough barrel thickness to thread for tubes, best to measure carefully first.

Yikes! I started checking out pricing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but after paying shipping both directions, I'm probably well on my way to buying a new Stoeger Uplander (sub $400). That's a clarifying thought.

Thanks for the info.

Briley is very expensive. Mike Orlen has received alot of inconsistent reviews of late. How far you from Pembroke Kentucky? Rose Action Sports does choke install. He cut a 870 barrel and threaded for chokes and shipped it back for 110 bucks. Excellent work and done fast. Even if you have to ship just sending the barrels cannot be that much more than maybe 25 30 bucks shipping in state.

What are you the chokes now? I suspect one if not both are Mod. Mod will do most anything. You could always just thread one barrel and choke it whatever and mod.
