Does anyone on here use the Molle 2 pack for hunting or training. If so what do you like or dislike about it.

This has been on for a couple of days so I thought I would chime in with my limited experience. I own 2 Molle II pack setups that I got cheap on ebay. They are well made, functional, and pretty comfortable. I have no doubt they are entirely adequate "as is" for hunting. I use them as back up Bug Out bags.

I have zero issue with the durability of the pack itself, but I am not a fan of the flexy plastic frame. The flexing is not a bad thing except I am afraid it will break under load. A popular and very practical upgrade is to dump the plastic frame and replace it with an Alice pack frame or other lightweight alloy frame. With this upgrade, packing heavy loads would
be a more stable platform to hike with. The old time Boy Scout or other vintage aluminum backpack frames with the shelf would be an ideal frame to pair with the Molle II pack and to also use to pack out meat. The Molle II pack straps and belt are excellent and super comfy.

There are better choices, but for the money difference for top of the line and the Molle II setup, the Molle II is one hell of a value.

I have one as well. Took it out elk hunting a few years ago as my hunting pack. My buddy shot a cow and we had to pack it out in 2 trips, about a mile and about a thousand feet of elevation. I had 50-70 ponds of meat in it both trips. Under that load, the pack was comfortable and stable. Most of the weight is born by the hip belt. The shoulder straps mostly balance the load. The only other packs I've ever used were crappy pack frames provided by an outfitter. The Molle II was way more comfortable than those. My only complaint is that mine was a bit heavy empty. I have used it deer hunting occasionally and have used it once to drag out a deer. I attached the drag rope to the frame, put it on, and proceeded to walk out dragging the deer.
