I thought about it overnight and headed back today. I asked if they could do any better on price. The salesman went in a back room for a bit and returned saying they could do $400. Nice clean 4X Redfield included. I have wanted one of these for years. Conduct is the best proof of character.

I always liked the 541T better than the 541S, IMO the 541S was a little overdone with the scrollwork. Congrats drover 223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers. 24hourcampfire.com - The site where there is a problem for every solution.

What Remington once was I suppose... My boy's were happy. I'll fly it back to Texas with my Win M77 I picked up here earlier this summer. Conduct is the best proof of character.

Particularly if it has the cold bore first shot flyer. I just bought a Heavy Barrel one yesterday. My 541-S had the "flyer" have seen several others do this as well. There are some good deals out there, one has to be patient.

They are pretty accurate rifles.

And it looks to be in nearly mint condition. I have a 541T and a 541S. Love them both but I always seem to take out the T when I go out busting jackrabbits. Both are deadly accurate with just about anything but Eley HP’s knock them down like lighting bolts. Great find. To say you did well would be a serious understatement...

It eventually started to balk a bit, so I when I bumped into a new one in my LGS, I bought it, $10 IIRC. I think the old one is probably gummed up with bullet lube from the thousands of rounds it's fed. What fresh Hell is this?

Extremely well made. I returned from shooting it a couple hours ago. I mounted one of the Weaver 2.5-7X Rimfires that Natchez has on sale on it.
