Clarkm; Excellent handle and video and your drill press plays the didgeridoo too! I might try one like that with Tx. Eboney.

I like the "Tacticool" WWII Pineapple Hand Grenade bolt knobs.

Thanks, you got me to watch my own video. The camera mounted on the mill table does sound like a didgeridoo.

I have experimented with a lot of bolt handle sizes and shapes.

Like pistol handles and chisel handles, I have found they figured it out over 100 years ago. All my designs are screwy when I try to reinvent the wheel. I have made some dorky, but original handles. I find it is best to copy an existing handle shape that feels good in the hand.
The one that seems perfect to me is the Glade Armory tactical bolt handle.

I copy the Glade shape and size, but improve on the color, weight, and specific heat.

Fascinating Clark. Loved watching the video

I got my pure precision slim with spiral flutes. I like it but the guy who threaded my bolt handle left the shank a little too long so the pure precision knob does not sit flush on the bolt handle. Should be an easy fix for mr beanland when he get’s it for my project in the next week or so

Edited to add that the PP Slim weighs 0.5 oz

Too late now I guess, but I really like the American Precision Arms knobs.

I make a nice one that I call the “Hunter Knob”. It’s small but handles nice. I can send pics tomorrow
