Congrats ! my favorite Deer species. When you get time I would like to hear the tale also and what part of the state you got it in.

That's really a nice buck---especially with a muzzleloader.

What is the width? Just curious.

Very nice trophy - we do have some good mule deer out this way. He lived the good life long enough to grow a healthy head full.

Cc, that sucker probably would have pushed 400 on the hoof. When I walked upto it, it reminded me of a fat medium size cow elk.
It's funny, but a local GW told me there are some with bodies that big in the country around Seminole and Andrew's. The area east of Andrew's has been closed to hunting like forever and the big ranches there have a lot of huge 35 inch spread Booners. There is a lot of farming north of Andrew's and around Seminole.

The deer in West Texas are of the desert variety while the one I posted today is a Rocky Mt muley.

The 260 inch buck Sandbilly and I tracked up in the desert sandhills north of Monahans was just normal sized in the body.

Perhaps Jesse will hazard a guess as to the deer we got together.

I don’t think that buck would have survived the rut. He wasn’t looking extremely healthy. If you could have smoked him a year or two earlier? Whew...
