I recently bought the Mesa in 300WM. I took the brake off as I am trying save what hearing I have left, ha. As mentioned...wonderful rifles! I love mine! I have four different loads with different makes/weights/styles that all shoot to the same exact zero! I love the Trigger Tech trigger too!

For those of you that have these in 6.5 PRC, did you check the bare rifle weight?

I haven’t weighed mine. But It wasn’t purchased as an ultralight and I’ve got a 20 + ounce scope on it in solid mounts.

Have any of you checked POI shift when using the brake and the thread protector? I can see myself using the brake for range time and the thread protector for hunting.

I think 7lbs or just a hair under that is about right. The PRC has a longer and slightly heavier barrel than the 6.5 CM Mesa, as I handled both at the same time. I have only shot it with the brake so can’t say about the poi change with the thread protector.i always have plugs around my neck ready to use, can’t afford to lose any more of my hearing!

You and me both on the hearing thing. With a defective shooting shoulder the brake will be great at the bench. With substantial hearing loss, my ears with thank me when I am hunting. I am interested in the POI shift. I may email Christensen and see what they say.
