I came to the conclusion that my moving out of the People's Republic of California was like a lot of people who give up smoking developing a real aversion to cigarette smoke. I have a real aversion to ever going back there.
The 250K is scheduled to be delivered Friday. He didn't say anything about a letter but did say he got it from the daughter of the original owner. I'll get details from him on that and if he doesn't have a Savage letter I'll try to get one from the factory.
I think my next gun show display will be of 10 or 11 1895, 1899 and 99 engraved or special order rifles. I'll have 11 unless I sell the 300K. Mine won't be here till Monday

R. L. Knifer had an overpriced 99K 250 and an overpriced MHG w. bayonet at the Denver collector's show two years ago.

LBK, what is the rear barrel sight? I can tell it's a fold down. It is a Lyman. BTW IIRC this is the first rifle I have seen with a tang sight that hasn't at one time or another been folded down and left the witness mark in the wood. I need some time to pull guns out of the safes and check my others I am amazed when you find a gun almost 90 years old and still is, for the most part, factory original.
