I voted for Trump and I'd rather see him making these decisions rather than the evil one. One thing is for sure Islam is not our friend no matter how you disguise it.

No way Jose!
If nothing else....the Kurd have a better propaganda department than the others in the area. Wow! We agree on something. Even a busted clock is correct twice a day.

Pull all troops from all those counties. Not our fight. If it ever actually gets so it affects us then do something. We are not the world savior even though we have done it a couple times. Other than costing American lives and money what has been accomplished in 20 years of fighting over there. Ed k

Ed k maybe it's because under the right ldrshp they will fuse, coalesce and then represent a challenge to the West? i don't know. just speculating. isis didn't succeed.

These are not the Iraqi Kurds. These are Kurds associated with hard liners. Quit listening to the fake news.

back in the day that i was expecting simple solutions to the iraqi problem, i'd have thought in my simple mindedness that iraq would have been subdivided into the [bleep], sunni, and kurd regions. boy was i wrong!
actually i wasn't so wrong, as totally outvoted by the powers that be.
and life goes on. the bombs kill with collateral damage as necessary.

I don't know much about the history of that part of the world or the politics of that region. It does appear the region was destabilized when Bush invaded Iraq and deposed Sadam. Is it possible Trump is pulling out because the US has nothing to gain by continuing to put our soldiers in danger in that part of the world? We don't need their oil anymore. Let them sort out their differences and stop spending taxpayers money and soldiers lives for a bunch of schidt hole countries full of schidt hole people. Americans have no choice but stay involved. They need to make sure the USD is used in crude oil transactions and Saudi Arabia bought 400 billion worth of American military hardware. That sale of weapons means American jobs and to date is one very few meaningful Trump accomplishments.

What is, 'that part of the world is not our gotdamn problem' for a thousand Alex. If you don't stop it there, you will get to fight on you own land, history shows us that. We have too many Moslem's in the western hemisphere already. Just my take on the world situation, Cheers NC

And just like that Trump exposed the left as the war mongers that they are. You don't think he did that on purpose? Any legitimate opinion on this has to make a choice or two. The only things that will solve this fighting that's been going on for hundreds of years are genocide, or for the US to remain there indefinitely....as in, forever. If you suppose that it is our responsibility to fix that region, take your pick. But don't pretend that there is a way to fix it cleanly and permanently, and then leave. That's an opinion based on fantasy.

One needs to look to history, Yazidi Kurds are not muslims and have been utilizied by the USA since WW2. The situation in that part of the world is complex and changes on a regular basis. Trying to apply western standards and values simply does not work.

And all this angst has ignored that the Turks are part of NATO and the Kurds, as a group, are not - and neither is Syria. The US is part of NATO. How do you suppose those facts influence what we should do?
