Just bought this from a member here.
Slow rust blued. Fine old scope with a post reticle.
Nicely done. All I need now is a stock ferrule and a trigger guard.
I've got a Timney trigger that I might use instead of the set trigger.

I personally wouldn't swap triggers.

You're probably right. The set trigger is a little stiff, hence the need for the proper stock ferrule. I think the rear action screw is drawn down too tight.
Which reminds me. I need a slow rust blued front action screw. The one in it is high polish and doesn't match.

I replaced a set trigger in my first 98 many, many years ago. Mistake I think.

What I've found out so far.

The scope and claw mounts are made by Akah. An old German scope and mount maker from the 1800's.
Serial numbers on the turret caps, based and scope body.
Still looking for instructions on disassembly for the mounts so I can clean them.
I found some old information online so far. Anyone here knowledgeable on this setup?

The scope is made by Akah. Same folks built the claw mounts. Old German company still in business. I've emailed them to get a manufacture date on the scope. It has a serial number.
My only issue is the set trigger. Very tough primary trigger. Researching how to work on lightening it. The secondary trigger is a dream.
I've got two aftermarket triggers as backups. I would just need a slow rust blued trigger guard as the other triggers are pinned to the guard and I don't want to take them apart.

Wow. That’s a beauty. Double set triggers, claw mount scope , butter knife bolt handle, schnabel fore end tip. I’m jealous.

If you decide to sell the double set trigger, I’m interested. Same with the whole rifle. Just not today. I have enough projects underway for now. But seriously- nice find.

Just pop the pins out and remove the trigger from the trigger guard. No big deal, they won't fall apart or anything.

The stiff rear trigger means it has a powerful kicker spring in it. I would live with it as it guarantees swift positive kick against the sear.

It turns out that it is missing the stock ferrule. If you tighten the rear tang screw past 5"pounds it moves the back trigger applying too much pressure on it.

Just grab some nice brake line tubing from the auto store and cut your own ferrule. Problem solved, and end result excellent. Nice find.

I've done that. Except I used stainless tubing the I&C technicians had left over from installation jobs......
