After he had tagged his buck it was pretty much a meat hunt from then on. Had eight total tags to fill in 1.5 days...

Had a little time after the tags were filled to call some coyotes.

My son did the calling and my wife was going to shoot. She missed one at 378 yards. Next stand one hung up at 474 yards and sat on his butt staring our direction. One and done with the 6mm-06.

I had caped my sons the night before and hung it in the cooler. Still have it to cut up but hope to do that with him tonight. It is the youth deer hunt at the end of the week so will probably hold off on grinding till after that.

That's a pile of goats. Congratulations! Awesome set up for meat processing.

Glad you guys liked the pics. It is nice to have good friends with lots of antelope and good access so you don't have to pack them, drag them or game cart them out. Saves a lot of time when you are going for volume smile We love eating antelope at our house. I put elk as #1 but antelope a close #2.

I am grateful for the shop space I have. At one point I wanted to process commercially but glad I didn't. I am sure I would end up hating it after a while. Built the mini-shop for coyotes mostly but it has ended up working well for game.

Thanks MCH!

Cutting up my son's buck antelope we found this 85 TSX last night.

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

Left the muzzle at 3090 and impacted around 2400 +/-. His first shot was through the ribs but before I had a chance to tell him not to bother with a second he hammered it again. This was his "insurance" shot. Buck was quartering away and it passed through the right hindquarter, through the chest, shattered the shoulder bone and lodged in the meat. Must have picked up .2 grains of antelope along the way. I can live with that kind of performance.

We were able to trim right up to the hole in the hindquarter.
