Well, I agree 100%. That's why I bought the Ruger #3 in 25-35. I'm the only old vart on the block with one, and all of my teeth are still tight. I can shoot it all day. But, once in a different life I'd probably go with the H&H. I always wanted one, and you can load it down if need be.

PS Pappy. Barley & Hops closed up shop, we need to find a new watering hole.


A .25/35 is one of my favorite fantasies; totally practical for an Eastern hardwoods walker. There are, of course, other ways to get "there" via handloading, but such a beast practically demands a single-shot of some sort.

Too bad about B&H. I have no candidates in mind as a replacement; I'm strictly a tourist in the P.R. of MD these days, except for Talbot County. Let me know.
