I called in a tom yesterday and dropped him with some number 4 shot. Whew, what a beauty. His beard was 11", his weight 21 1/2 lbs., with on spur that went 1 1/8". Fried some breast meat last night and it was deeeeelicious! I'm trying to figure out how to post photos here. No luck yet, Photobucket won't upload them even though they are resized?

That's strange. When I pull up this thread, I see the photo okay. I might still be doing something wrong? I'll keep trying.

Congrats!

Sounds like a fine bird, I haven't taken too many with long ropes like that.

Have a good one,

Nice bird. And nice still-life photo.
