Who likes which? I tried this one last night, very nice. For its quality I find it to be a bargain at its price.

Diesel fuel is less expensive and tastes the same. You're thinking of Zippo fluid and Canadian whiskey.

Haven’t tried that one , or the more expensive blended options
I do like JW black. I generally don’t like talisker but I like it blended.. I actually don’t know that JW uses talisker for the body, but it sure tastes like it.

If those bottles were full size I'd say you have a very generous friend.

Monkey Shoulder. Interesting, and pricepoint is also right.

If those bottles were full size I'd say you have a very generous friend. They were small, but he is generous. The only thing I did to it was chill it, otherwise drank it straight. Very good whiskey. The Black got pushed back in the fridge and forgotten with a couple of drinks left, otherwise it would be gone too. Off-topic but just finished up some High West Prairie Whiskey. Excellent. Pricey, but excellent. Nice speed goat on the label too.

Haven’t tried that one. I’m a fan of JW Black. How does it present itself?

It's sweeter than Black, and doesn't have as much smoke at the end. I mean sweet by good Scotch standards, not like Canadian.
It doesn't hold up to the 12 year old Black, but it's a good bit less expensive and a much better sipper than Red.

Famous Grouse. Try it!
The Scots prefer a blend and laugh at us Americans that spend more on single malt. Their stance is a blend is consistent bottle to bottle and year to year. They know what they are buying. Single malts can vary from not much to extreme.
