To add to the above question, would a 9.5 twist work at 4000 feet. Is so, what do you think the slower velocity and twist with due to the BC? I read Hornady says on The bc and the twist required but I am tempted to give them a try for fun. I can load to 2.95

Intellestingly enough,the .308" Hornie 208 'Max in a Whizzum or Winny Mag,haven't the mettle to hang with the "itty-bitty" 7-08/180 melding. That in either a 3" '70 platform,or a L/A H&H lengthed 700. I've a "hunch",that I prolly shoot 'em all. (grin) Hint.

Now as "minimum" Gross RPM goes(which is a lineal calculation),things get ugly quickly,with but a modest "change".
