I'm not much on Canadian Whiskey. I like good scotch but being from Texas I'm more of a Bourbon-Tennessee sour mash lover. My favorite is Jack Danials. They pissed me off when they lowered the proof in two steps down from 90 to 86 then all the way down to 80. That caused me to quit it for about 15 years but I've finally gotten back to it. It's still pretty good even at that candy ass level.
I also drink a little Kentucky Bourbon. Everything from Woodford Reserve to Wild Turkey and a few in between is great for me. Knob Creek is one of my favorites. At 100 proof it's just right. If I want to get real fancy I'll go with some Eagle Rare or some Wild Turkey Rare Breed. But there's so many excellent bourbons when I go in a liquor store I'm more like a kid in a candy store.
What goes up must come down, what goes around comes around, there's no free lunch. Trump's comin' back, get over it!

Alberta Springs, Glen Breton and 40 Creeks are all excellent suggestions.
If you have broad ranging ideas about what is a good beer there are tons of micro breweries in Canada with a huge range of flavours and styles
