I remember hearing about these rifles. Did anyone ever get one and how do they shoot? Looked on Whitakers but they say no productive found when I click on them. Was just tooling around with the notion of trying to find one, threaded version preferably.

They and a case of ammo are the best favors one can do for their shooting/killing ability.

I load for three 1-8” Tikkas and one 1-10”. Earlier this year I worked up a load using the 75 grain ELDM.

I have owned both the T3 varmint and Lite version. They shoot extremely well. Mine had an affinity for 52 grain smks and H335 and when properly bagged would go into the .3s very consistently. Lots of handloads were .5s.

Factory loads were the variable. Some shot well, some poor. Poor could mean up to 1.5 moa. A good factory load usually was in the .7s

I sold my heavy barrel due to the fact that my T3 Lite was equally as accurate from a mechanical accuracy standpoint. The hard part was the fundamentals. You really have to have perfect form with such a lite rifle. Overall, it was a phenomenal rifle. Traded it to a campfire friend. It accounted for around 50 coyotes before that happened.

I’ve had two. Currently own a T3 Lite using AICS pattern mags. Accurate gun and would recommend.

I had a Tikka T3 sporter that was reasonably accurate. The issue I had centered on the chamber. Even though it was 8 twist, it seemed to have a SAMMI chamber with a short throat. I could not get it to shoot heavier bullets well at all. The person I sod t to had nouse for heavier bullets and was quite pleased with it.

You all seem to have had better luck with Tikkas than I have, though my experience is limited.

Mine in .223 felt like a kid's toy, wasn't near as accurate as they're made out to be and had broken parts in the magazine latch in short order.

I borrowed a T3 .270 for an axis hunt on Molaki, and wasn't anymore impressed. It was good enough for a 200 yard shot on a 150 pound buck though...

Formidilious has shot the dog snot out of them. Sportmatch rings and SWFA is the ticket. Although I’m partial to my Talleys. Still gonna try a set though.

Is that rope to keep your solvent trap mounted Josh?
Seems like most of you guys have had good luck. My current 223ai sits North of the 12# mark so I dont mind the weight.
Just have to find one now.
Thanks guys.

Besides the Superlight I also owned a 1 in 8 T3...both are the least finicky shooters I think Ive ever had...Didnt touch either one, trigger, bedding, nothing, just shot them out of the box.

I will be contacting you about the mag mod. I’ve started shooting a little again and dug out that same rifle. Right now I’m just shooting 68’s at mag length but was studying the magazine mod the other night. My stepdad got one from Hig and he had already fixed it. I assume you take the bottom off and cut it back the put in the bar stock?

Kaleb,
Good to hear that you have gotten back into shooting. Hope all is well, I know you have been a busy man.
Viking,
I havent seen one personally but I'll bet that wood is sweet.
Ingwe,
Were you reloading for them or just factory ammo?
I have a bunch of 69, 75, 77, grain bullets to try in this once I get it.
Josh,
Did your rifle come threaded or did you get it done?
Running a 5/8×24 thread or 1/2×28?

What tools do you need and how do you do it? MIne shoots 75s really well, but it's a single shot in that mode.

Go for the 1-8
If you ever decide to shoot heavier you can.
I have the 1-10 and it’s fine but wish I could shoot the heavies

I’m not seeing a 223 offering? Would be a nice option though.

Gonz I’m sure you’ve checked with Josh about the mag mod. I noticed Brownells has them for $45 if you wanted a extra.

Just picked up a used one for $400. I had some rounds left over I loaded for my AR (69gr loaded to AR mag length). Cold bore shot was good. Next three shots, cloverleaf. How boring.

The Teeker 223 mags suck ass, just like ALL things Teeker magazine associated. Hint. Congratulations?!?

Toss a 1913 inclined interface atop, that is pinned and you can quit fretting base failures. I'm DONE with 1pc base/rings,as I've puked too many and because ring spacing is your scope's(ANY fhuqking scope) BEST friend. Hint.

No matter the platform, nothing helps a scope,as much as maximum ring spacing and a 1913 rail simply has NO equal. Hint.

To date,I've only puked (8) sets of LW's. Hint.
