Pickled eggs and sausages, gallon jars. Grilled chicken or steaks. Beer. Lies, mostly the same ones over and over......

I like to smoke a brisket, fry fresh large scallops, and cook last year’s deer loin. I marinate in Jack Daniel’s marinade Steak sliced 1/4” thick a grill or fry. Used to be big on pot roasts in slow cooker, chili or stews. Not so much the last few years. We tend to do salad mixes, instant potatoes and potato salad for sides. I’ve become an almond snickers fan....always bring a couple boxes to make sure there is enough.

All sorts of good food comes to camp. My favorite though is always a good hearty mid-late morning breakfast of meat, potatoes and eggs. Standard fare if someone took a morning buck. Take your pick on what and how they they are cooked. Red potatoes and eggs cooked in the rendered fat of kielbasa. Lots of granulated onion and garlic, salt and pepper.

our deer season is already underway. We always have chili, often times a stew, last weekend we had bear meat chili and Grilled T bones. I'll be making cabbage soup tonight to bring out to camp on Friday.
Famous for our huge breakfasts which occur close to lunch time. Cabbage Soup! Wow; keep the windows open! Jerry

Paula Dean's Beef Stroganoff recipe, substitute Venison I like to cherry pick a few lbs from a deer we're butchering. Use Aldi's spatzel noodles and do some minute rice to give the guys a choice.
1 1/2 pounds cubed round steak, cut into thin strips All purpose flour 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 tablespoons butter 1 medium onion sliced 2 - 8 ounce packages of sliced mushrooms 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can beef broth 1 (10 3/4 ounce) cream of mushroom soup (garlic flavored) salt pepper garlic powder 1 cup sour creamy cooked egg noodles
Directions
Season steak with salt, pepper and garlic powder then dust with flour. In a large skilled, quickly brown beef in olive oil and butter.
Add the onion and mushrooms to pan with drippings. Saute for a few minutes until the onion is tender. Sprinkle with 1 tsp of flour. Put the steak back into the pan with the onion and mushrooms. Add onion soup and beef broth. Cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, covered.
Serve over cooked egg noodles.
Made this yesterday. Pretty good. Did I miss onion soup in the list of ingredients, or should that say the cream of mushroom? I used the mushroom.
