The discussion had me go to look at my Super Grades. I have two, a 7mm Rem Mag. Custom Super Grade serial #G11XX which I purchased in either 1992 or 1993. It has Super Grade marked on both the floor plate and on the barrel.
The other one is in 300 WSM with serial #35AMP105XX. It has Super Grade marked on the barrel but no where else. This one was acquired within the last 3-5 years I believe. (I'm not in the house where my shooting book is that would tell me the exact date.)
The 7mm Mag had some problems which took the company about 8 months to sort out but they looked after me very well and the gun is still shooting to my satisfaction.
The stock on each rifle is definitely better than run of the mill and they both have black fore end tips. I don't know whether this adds anything to the discussion but is offered for what it is worth.
