Like Blue Ribbon Pabst and Jim Beam I'm old school. Federal Blue Box first and Remington Core Lokt a distant second.

I have found Federal, both blue box and premium, to be the most accurate of factory ammunition. It also chronographs much closer to published velocities than the others. This.

When i am testing any newly acquired rifle I almost always try the Federal blue box cheap stuff fist. It has been accurate out of more rifles than any other non premium ammo. My experience mirrors yours.

Wow, some of you know a lot about factory ammo. I shoot almost none of it, so I'll just have to accept what I'm reading.

I typically buy factory ammo on sale some for the brass. My 270 gets Winchester brass so I buy 150 grain Power Points the rest have been wearing federal for a while, especially my 308. Factory ammo stores well also.
