Don't want to pee in your punchbowl, but before you buy a 452, at least look at a 457 in person. A range buddy has one and it's pretty nice. Corrects pretty much all the gripes I have with the earlier ones. Hopefully SS is in the works. That might prompt me to trade my SS 455.
Much has been made of the twin lug bolts of the 452 and 453, but I'm not totally convinced, although my 453 was a fine shooter. The fixed barrel also gets points from many.

Anybody got one they’d sell me? What chambering are you looking for - 22LR, 17HM2, 17HMR or 22WMR?
Pursuit may be, it seems to me, perfect without possession. Robert Kelley Weeks (1840-1876)

Yes As per your Classified thread , are your still wanting the rifle shipped to California? Yes, and please don’t let that be an issue. It’s nothing but urban legend that shipping guns (at least normal long guns) To CA is a problem. It’s no more difficult than shipping a box of shoes or anything else.

Amd don't be so glib about it. Unless an non- CA FFL dealer has gone through the hoops to be registed with the CA state authorities to ship firerams into CA- they can't do it. Some dealers who have not already done so would prefer to avoid the hassle. Yes, there are many FFL dealers in the US who are set up sell to CA..But many will not. Which is EXACTLY why your State Poiitcians did it - to impede the flow of weapons into your state.

Ok, fine, but a private citizen can ship without issue. Nothing glib about that statement!

452 is nice, 457 probably better than a 455, or more desirable. For pure value and utility, with great accuracy, don't overlook Ruger American....

I’ve been using 452s for a long time. Had a 455 when it first came out. Didn’t shoot as well as any of my 452s. I handled a 457 and I don’t ever intend to own one. I’ll be keeping my 452.
To the op. There’s a shop local here in Ky that had a 452 American in .22. It might still be there. I’m sure they would ship it. Idk about California but you could call and ask Pm me if you’d like their contact info
