Sunday I woke up, feeling a bit bad, and went to the can. Solid black, like coal. Twice more that day and felt like crap. I thought about going to the ER, but didn't. I made a doctors appointment for Wednesday.
Monday I went to work. I did a Hemoccult test there. Strong and immediate reaction to the solution, blood.
Tuesday it looked normal. Still reacted to the Hemoccult but weaker and slower.
Doctors Wednesday, he tactfully called me a stubborn dumb ass for not going to the ER Sunday. Colonoscopy and endoscopy Monday. Doc says it could be the long term effect of GERD but poking around he thinks there could be a hiatal hernia.
Thursday I checked again, reaction was there but very slow and light.
Toss a little prayer my way if you could.

All i know about blood in stool samples is brite red bleed down low,black/real dark bleed up higher.
As a side note if one is puking their guts out and it seems what looks like charcoal floating in the bowl,GET to the ER as fast as you can.
It's an ulcer.
