I know, I know, its not reloading but have a 16 question. Anyone used the briley extended choke tubes for a Browning Citori 16? Thinking about taking it to Kansas for late season roosters and looking at light modified top and improved modified bottom. Shooting #5s. Thank you

I haven't used the Briley tubes in 16, but bought the Trulock and really like them. The standard Invector tubes just looked too short to me. The Trulock are really long and make my 28" Citori more like a 29" gun, which I kind of like.

Yes, I’ve had them for several years for my Citori Superlight 16 ga. I got the black finish extended tubes. The worst thing about these guns is the mismarking on the factory tubes. None of the factory tubes I’ve checked were anywhere close to what they are marked. I also like the more gradual taper of the Brileys.

I have a full set of Briley extended choke tubes for my 16 ga. Browning 525 Sporting and they all pattern well for their intended purpose. I am especially fond of the LM which is very effective on relatively long range clays. I have not really used anything tighter than modified or #5 shot but I expect you plan for LM/IM would work great on pheasants. Good luck.

My standard pheasant choke setup is LM/IM in the afore mentioned Citori Superlight with Briley extended chokes. If I need the tighter choke first, I use my redneck barrel selector - pull the trigger to get to the tighter choke on the second shot. Amazing how many times that first shot rolls the bird without the second.

I like 1 1/8 oz of #6, handloaded with high antimony STS shot.

Just got the Trulock tubes in. Going to toss the 16 in on the next trip and see how it goes with those chokes.

That looks just like mine. I think I have LM (SK2) in the bottom and either M or IM in the top. I love a properly sized 16 gauge for upland hunting,. Mine is 6.75 pounds and balances great.. I bought it at a great price and in like new condition from a gunshop that was selling 300 guns from some guy's 1000 plus gun collection. Haven't hunted it yet, but really like it.

In 16, I'm a fan of the Remington Express load in number 6 for pheasants and wild flushing blue quail. They will knock a pheasant down a long way out with a gun that will pattern them.

I’m ruining Tru-loc in my A5 jap barrel and love them.

I like Fiocchi Gold pheasant in my 16 ga, either # 5 or #6 shot. Choke tune wise, mod and light mod.

Just shot a few sporting clays with new chokes. Hit percentage was for sure higher. Have to see if I can get it out for pheasants next. Seems like a nice improvement over the shorter factory tubes.

I have a Briley Extended tube in my Auto 5. It patterns near perfect at my shooting distances. I much prefer it to the Invector chokes.
