Ovis ammon ammon, also known as High Argali sheep have been sport hunted for decades by sportsman from around the world - in very limited numbers! Why? It is incredibly expensive. Like $100,000 for tax, tag, title, and delivery to use a phrase. Also, you better be pretty fit to hunt those mountains. Thus, the cross sections of hunters that fit both rich, fit , and desire sheep are few.
At $100K a ram, the economic benefit if great. Local people poach the "beloved sheep" for food, and have been known to do so commercially. Meat is hard to come by in those places.

I read the entire article, it was a joke, they kept saying/assuming bad things, like political favors, tag after the kill etc etc etc, then went on to say well that's how it works and you have to be rich.
He won the hunt from an NRA auction, he got a meeting with the Mongolian political folks, and they they turned it around to say the hunt, well it just must have been about creating political favors with President Trump.
The editor should have killed the story, throw out wild ass assumptions, then pretty much imply they can't find any proof, but it must be so
Donald Trump Jr. could go out squirrel hunting and he would be treated in the exact same manner by 95% of these lying, stupid, scumbag media types and the propaganda machines they work for.
