Those Hammer bullets kill. I find the bullets very accurate and easy to find a load that shoots well. Congrats, nice buck. Gary U

Nice Deer and on getting it done late season. Beats the one horn forkey I had in front of me yesterday, that posed and fiddled around for 10 minutes at 50 yards.

Thanks guys! I had been getting rather discouraged. First day I had a fork horn walk past at 25 yards, and saw some doe, all through thick brush that I could not have shot through had it been doe season. I also hunted Monday when we had snow, hunted most of the morning and did not see any deer. Saturday sat out again, from 6:30-11 ish, then again from 2:30-dark, and again did not see a single deer. I tried a different stand then on Wednesday, and it paid off. I saw probably at least 10-12 doe, and was going to shoot one for meat. Actually, (and this is embarrassing) I rushed a shot at a doe first before I ever saw the buck. After the shot, saw no reaction out of the doe and she ran over the hill. There were also other deer that started running, but had no idea where the shot came from, so the were slightly milling around. I aimed at another doe, and was going to squeeze off a shot as soon as she cleared the tree she was behind. In my peripheral vision I saw another deer, and I saw bone on top of his head. As I was swinging the gun, I was looking to make sure he was legal. It all happened so fast, I did not count points, but it was pretty easy to tell he was legal (need 3 on 1 side to be legal). Settled on him, shot, and he dropped. This stand was also the same stand that I shot a 129 inch 8 point out of 2 years ago. That one was on the last day as I was about to climb out of my stand at 11:30. So I shot the one pictured below, and the one pictured at the beginning out of the same stand. The one 2 years ago was running doe, and I am pretty sure the one this year was also running the doe. Neither one of them had I ever got a picture of on trail cameras. I figure I will keep the stand there for a few more years!

I've got one of those trailer hitch deer hoists with an 800 lb winch made of heavy wall 2" steel tubing. Now if I can just find a Jevyod for purchase locally, I think I can increase my game hoist capacity.

Great job. How'd the Sat.opener go in your part of 4E?

Great job. How'd the Sat.opener go in your part of 4E? Pretty slow. Heard some shooting but not that much. Some was the typical 4 or 5 shots in a row.
