I’m getting ready to rework my old M94 and am interested in Boyd’s laminated stocks. From what I’ve read online, minor fitting is to be expected but I’m more interested in personal experience and pictures if available of either a Winchester M94 or Marlin 336. For those who have them, hows the quality? Would you do it again? My old Winchester was my first ever rifle given to me by my granddad. I even killed my first deer with so to say it’s special is an understatement. However, it is also very rough. Granddad treated guns like other tools, simply to use. It came to me rough years ago and I’m going to have it coated satin black. The original walnut stocks are rough and chipped. I’m gonna try my hand at refinishing them and though the Boyd’s May be a good way to go in the mean time. Any and all opinions appreciated.

Although I have quit posting pictures with the campfire's current picture posting rules...
I have used Boyd's laminate stocks on several lever actions...... done for friends...
I didn't really have to do a lot of fitting, even tho I have had the tools I got from Boyd's for quit a while now...
the finished jobs turned out real well... durable and attractive...]
the friends I did them for really were pleased...
of course they were pleased also I did them at no charge... just to see how they would be fitting them from Boyd's
as I said, little fitting was needed....

Have used Boyd's laminated stocks on two bolt action rifles. Minor fitting with just sandpaper was all I had to do, one barrel channel was a little wide otherwise I am very happy with the quality.
