No experience here, but always thought a tritium front sight would be ideal on a lever gun for low light, morning/evening hunting.

I want one on my custom Marlin 45-70. Similar to the XS Standard Big Dot front sight, but want it with a flat post. No one makes it except for a AR.

If you could find a handgun front sight that you like, and is the right height, you could put that in the dovetail.
