I was standing at the gun counter in Cabelas asking to see the Tikka T3X in 6.5 Creedmoor. The counter clerk immediately begins telling me about
I've been tired of counter clerks most of my life. They'd be OK if they just wrote up the gun you wanted without the sales talk. In the 1960s they would say east Texas you need a 30-06, west Texas you need a .270 for longer shots in the more open areas, that's all they had been taught! If looking in the used gun rack, they would say a used .270 has the barrel shot out, guaranteed.

I think it's funny. The last cartridge that caused this much hype and totally unbelievable BS stories was the 17 HMR...  "I swear on my mother's grave I can kill a bull elk at 500 yards with one shot from my 17 HMR!" Bwahaha  That kind of BS went on for years. Endless drivel. They would fight you too, if you didn't believe their BS.  Anyone else remember all that 17HMR hype? It was nearly a religion...  I've got a 6.5 CM and a .17 HMR. Like them both. Killed a lot of foxes with the .17 HMR out to around 150 yds and didn't bother my liberal neighbors that much doing it, very good rimfire round and accurate if not too much wind. I find the 6.5 CM pretty much everything the more knowledgeable posters say about it, and not so much what the less knowledgeable posters say about it.
