My pal and his son hunted hard the last 3 days of Pa.'s deer season.. They had doe license and so did his wife, but she doesn't hunt much and more.. Any way my pal had one poor chance.. His son zip!!! His wife kept her .243 handy and shot two does from her back porch... Some days it doesn't pay to leave the house....

Funny about them tree forts. A few buddies further north up in the Adirondacks have a few hundred acres each and had that one perfect spot. After decades of killing deer there they built nice heated “tower stands”. No deer killed since but I sort of suspect they doze a bit these days.

Gremcat, I enjoyed read about the bear you were feuding with. I could picture you in hot pursuit. Several years ago, I spent a dreary afternoon chasing a wounded bear through the thick shït. It was eerie as hell plunging into the dark spots. Your terrain sounds quite a bit like ours up in Warren Co.
On the rifle opener this year, the kid up the road saw one behind camp and over the top that he said you could hide a four wheeler behind. He didn’t have a tag.

I hunt a farm that's been ruined by ladder stands. Years ago it was a great farm to hunt but then several guys got permission there that were ladder stand crazy. They have ladder stands pretty much covering the property and since they've done that the deer hunting has become terrible. Deer seem to avoid the farm during daylight.

Picturing you carting Destiny, your rifle case, and hunting gear through the Portland Airport—it would have been epic. In Portland, it is most certainly odd he didn’t get pulled aside for the rifle case and hunting gear. Indeed. The Rainbow Unicorn would've been considered normal. lol
Camp is where you make it.
