Thanks for all the kind words, we had passed on one a few weeks ago due to the fading light and he was bummed out, told him we still have till mid February before season ends. This one was out a little early yesterday afternoon, saw him before we got to the stand at about 400 yards, he disappeared in the woods and came back out at just a little over a 100 yards. When he turned almost broadside I let him shoot. I’m glad he’s young enough that he doesn’t know how poorly equipped he was. Remington 700 with an old style factory trigger, detachable magazine, fixed power 6x Leupold, 7mm-08 shooting 120 grain Nosler Ballistic tips.

his first buck and he was happy! Just a small 8 point but it’s bigger than my first buck. He and little brother even did the dragging. Ronnie Heck yes! Give him a big handshake from me! To grandpa too! Nothing better than watching a youngster get their first critter.
