Growing up with older 22 bolts and then having a Marlin 60 and 39 and others the 10/22's have always felt too fat to me, not that they aren't a nice little 22 just wide where your hand grips them carrying.

I'd imagine a LR running CCI Subsonic HP would also be very quiet. If I had the SA-22 LR I would try the CCI Quiet rounds in it for plinking, I've read where someone over at rimfire central 'claimed' it would function with them (I wonder as I tried everything {bolt modded for standard velocity, light recoil spring & light hammer spring} to get them to function in a 10-22 and they would not). Now CCI has 'Semi-Auto' Quiets which will function in a 10-22 and likely in the SA-22 also. Jerry I know this is old, but I ran some of those SA Quiets through my 10/22 CSC, and while they work, you'd be hard-pressed to hit anything with them. They also work in my Victory, so all is not lost (I bought three bricks). They should work fine for rabbits in that, if there WERE any rabbits!
What fresh Hell is this?

Too bad Browning's checkering is always fugged up. Yeah it's "hand checkered" alright. By a 6 year old with a nail file by the looks of it.

[quote=65BR]Always been intrigued by this model, seems well made and liked. Will it hang with a 10/22 sporter?
Ive had a couple 10/22s and one SA22, but have shot several others. In my view the SA22 is far superior to the 10/22. I’ve sold my 10/22s.

I just saw a beautiful sa22 today (well Sunday). The shop wanted $400 for it. It is in like new condition
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
