7mm 08 or 7mm x57? I know they made a 7x57 and probably the- 08 as well.
Yes - 7 X57... have to look at the grip cap. didn't really, before, but off hand I'd say it is plastic. I have a chunk of raw ebony that would fit, but that's waaaay down the priority list of "things to be done"., even to the rifle itself. Clean out tight spots in barrel channel, lighten trigger pull a bit (it isn't too bad now) shoot for base-line accuracy for starters. I'm not impressed with that dab of compound in the bottom of the recoil lug mortice, so it it doesn't shoot well, a bedding job. Maybe even if it does. Possibly even full length - to be decided.
