Great read with such detail. Those situations tend to leave an indelible mark and recollection in one’s life. Hail the greatest generation, without their sacrifices it would be a much different world and none for the better.
There are many very talented people in the entertainment business. Unfortunately, so many are extremely ignorant of anything other than their profession, and this certainly includes history, human nature, and politics. Some of those people are not just ignorant but downright dumb. I think Ronstadt is in the latter group... which is quite large.

Canciones de mi Padre is one of my favorite albums. Reminds me of taco shops in San Diego, carne asada bbqs with my Mexican buddies, drinking homemade aquardiente with my green card coworkers, and range beef street tacos in Tecate. Basically life on La Frontera.

Was never a big fan of Canciones de mi Padre. Her voice isn't operatic enough and comes off sappy. Plus the arrangement of the songs didn't do them much justice.
Lucha Reyes and Lola Beltran in her early career if you want to hear how those songs were meant to be sung.
