My wife, who is a dang good cook, knocked it outta the park tonight for the New Years Day dinner. We got a lot of burger from the cow elk I bagged last month and with the snow coming down a bit today, my wife said she was craving chili. I'm always up for a bowl of spicy chili in winter, so this was a real treat. I know that the idea of beans in chili can cause fights, but I just care if it tastes good. And boy, did it. With a Bud and some tortilla chips, I was pretty close to as happy as a guy can get. No offense to the cattle ranchers here (we had locally raised Montana ribeyes last night), but I could easily go with elk chili over beef chili for a good, long time. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/gallery/80/full/117378.jpg)

We had a lettuce salad, mashed potatoes, baked squash, black olives and a really nice mutton roast.
Probably more of a hogget than a mutton.....but really good.

I decided to toss the no-carb "life-style" for ham and beans tonight in the slow cooker. It's done and good. Awaiting #3 son arriving in 10 minutes then it is chow time.

Homemade Pizza done on the Bubba Keg. Had mushrooms, onions, green pepper, ground beef and smoked sausage.
