My cousin's husband died working on his car just the other day. She feels badly that she did not check on him sooner.

I tried to comfort her, telling her, no nursing home, no surgeries.

Funeral tomorrow , not much family left at my age.

That's all.

Sorry for her loss, but I agree with you. I hoped he enjoyed working on his car. I hope she has happy memories that she can eventually take comfort in.

Sorry for your loss. All of us have seen people we love die lingering, often painful, deaths. Your cousin's husband went about as good as anyone can hope for. Hopefully that knowledge helps her in some way.

Sorry to hear

I feel like that’s a miserable way to go out, might’ve taken longer than some might think. Not everyone is a forensics expert.

I know my people would let me rot before anyone checks on me. Hate to bust on my own extended family but everyone seems to be in their own little world.

For that reason, I’m super OCD about redundant jackstands, I used a second floor jack to backup the first one, scotch wheels with 6x6s.

I know of a doctor, older fella set out to do a ball joint job on his truck, rocking and beating, fell off the jack and the brake rotor cut his arm off. Liked to have bleed for death before he could free the rest of himself crammed from under the front fender.

I’ve hypothesized my own demise

Wandering around the house with Kleenex boxes on my feet pushing a demerol drip on an IV pole might not be so bad.

Thanks good folks, only our Lord knows the time, and place. May it be the best for all of us.

I hope when I am long gone my family will miss me, about the best thing about the old folks can hope for.

Sorry you lost your Cuz Wabbi, losing family really sucks.

My grandmother lived into her 90's and told me one time the hardest part of getting that many years was watching all you family pass on.

Wabigoon: I have personally seen way, way WAY to much of slow, lengthy, lingering painful deceasements!
There IS something to be said for a good old fashioned heart attack!
I also am sorry to hear of the loss in your extended family.
May he rest in peace.

My cousin (47) has been battling colon cancer for 6 years. I have no idea how he is hanging on. He was dropped from hospice care because he wasn't dying fast enough. He's bleeding from his ass into diapers, short of breath at times, his feet and legs are swelling yet he still hangs on. We thought he was a goner in November. We passed on a short trip in ;ate June cause it looked like he was close. He was close in march we thought. It is now taking a toll on family as he is estranged from his wife and depending on others for his care. I would have found a cliff to jump off of by know and if I had a choice I would want to go quick.

I am sorry slumlord but I can somehow picture that whole scenario, but in my thoughts you are surrounded by a whole harem of big breasted young nurses. No idea why I can see it, but it just came to me out of the blue. I would guess not a bad way to go if your a man.
