Here's his review, and there were problems with the gun. Sad.

Apparently Colt didn't change the lock work enough.

Hopefully it will be an easy fix and they can get it worked out with a recall on those sold and before any more get out.

Hope so. Since the new Python is a total redesign, mechanically, it might not be so easy to do a good, solid, fix.

Sounds like there might be an issue, but I’m buying one anyway even if I have to send it back a time or two

I would wait six months or so. Let them work the kinks out.

I always thought it was an overrated firearm, Rick Grimes notwithstanding.

Maybe the “v” spring needs to be a little more powerful

It's the hammer....and how the transfer bar sets.

Nothing probably wrong with the spring strength.

Think pin protrusion.

Cast hammers. They probably made the outside purdy though...

If the cylinder isn't rotating it's probably the hand skipping the ratchet.

The hand is probably set by a spring on the transfer bar...

There's too much nose on the hammer. My inclination is that it wasnt even touched.
The ratchet isnt engaging because the transfer bar sets too far back because the hammer face is too long.

Had a brand new Anaconda that did the same thing.

Of course I've never seen the "new" Python action, but I would bet the hammer is a version of the MKIII/ V and not the old "Positive Lock".

Ah, I thought you meant the transfer bar was interfering - keeping the hammer off the firing pin somehow.

You could very well be correct.
