Hopefully it will be an easy fix and they can get it worked out with a recall on those sold and before any more get out.

Hope so. Since the new Python is a total redesign, mechanically, it might not be so easy to do a good, solid, fix.

Nothing probably wrong with the spring strength.

Think pin protrusion.

Cast hammers. They probably made the outside purdy though...

If the cylinder isn't rotating it's probably the hand skipping the ratchet.

The hand is probably set by a spring on the transfer bar...

There's too much nose on the hammer. My inclination is that it wasnt even touched.
The ratchet isnt engaging because the transfer bar sets too far back because the hammer face is too long.

Had a brand new Anaconda that did the same thing.

Of course I've never seen the "new" Python action, but I would bet the hammer is a version of the MKIII/ V and not the old "Positive Lock".

Ah, I thought you meant the transfer bar was interfering - keeping the hammer off the firing pin somehow.
