I looked for a few months before buying a Savage Storm. Am really happy with the Storm and have since bought the wife one in 7mm/08 and myself another lefty in .308.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Is the storm 1-8 twist in 223? According to their website, Storm .223 is 1:9" twist...

I've been looking, too, and the only ones I can find are in Canada. Seems like enough interest here for a group buy like was done with the 6.5?

They pop up on Gunbroker occasionally, but usually get snatched up quick. There was one on there early last fall. There are several of the Sporter models available, but that's a different animal. I suppose you could make your own LH T3 Varmint by putting a Sporter in a McMillan, but that's a big investment if you are looking for a sub $800 shooter.

Yeah, I'm going to build a bench gun and will screw a new barrel on so I don't care about twist or stock condition.
