Or is it that with the jet stream diving north it creates a vacuum that primes the gulf to throw up a storm?
I don't know. I'm a weather nerd had to follow it closely with work, but far from an expert. I almost wish I would have gone in to weather science studies. Its cool stuff.

Wherever it's gone I hope it stays there, heck I'll take sixty degree weather anytime in winter. As soon as Deer Season is over, I'd be happy if we could go straight to Spring.

I have to spend too much time outside in it, and hate bitter cold weather.

Same here. About a week ago it went from a perfectly normal winter to middle spring-like weather, overnight lows in the 60s and daytime highs in the low 80s. Been mostly sunny, too, and this pattern is supposed to continue for a few more days, before gradually cooling down again. I'm not complaining, though.

It finally warmed up to a balmy 10 degrees here. It was so nice yesterday, we decided to lounge down by the lake

Yeah,...that could be it. I just hope it stays up there. I first became aware of how the jetstream out of the northwest affected the weather of the country back in 77 and 78. It dipped very far south,....dumped one snow after another and kept the temps low enough that it wouldn't melt.

Winters like that are probably no big deal up north, but it was an event here.

Every day people would watch the local weather report to see if that damn jetstream was going to pull back up north.

I never paid much attention to winter before that. I've hated it ever since.
