Need proof that not only will this impeachment trail stuff blow over without marking Trump in the least, but that Trump easily wins re-election? Then I submit to you that CHINA has just signed a trade deal with the US the same day Pelosi marched her dog and pony show over to the Senate.
If the Chinese had any hope a Dem would win, they would never sign anything with Trump. They would be in a much better position to push the next Democrat around and change nothing. The fact that Cina has come to table and actually signed means even the biggest communists in left in the world know Trump will be President for nearly 5 more years.
Sorry if that gives you Leftists indigestion, but time to face the music. The bigwigs at the Chinese politburo may also feel that they are not be able to wait over an entire year without a trade deal. The agreement that was just signed, by the way, is but one segment of a much larger package. This one, dealing with IP theft and piracy, could easily be a way of looking like something is moving forward, while on the Chinese streets nothing changes.

While I hope you’re right, I’m reluctant to use your speculation as proof that another four years are certain. Relax. This is 1972 all over again. Just waiting to see who the Dems are going to choose to play George McGovern in this version. Take a look at the parallels: 1972 - GOP incumbent President, while less than universally personally popular, enjoys widespread job approval while he oversees a strong economy, strong job market, opens relations with Russia (USSR) and China and fights to end involvement in Vietnam. Nixon has important appointments on the Supreme Court, naming Warren Burger Chief Justice, and seating judges Powell, Blackmun, and Rehnquist.
Dems counter the conservative America-First President by going as far Left as possible to contrast themselves from the current administration. Thinking going far Left would pull them through, they pick the ultra liberal (for the era) anti-war George McGovern. McGovern's platform included immediate withdrawal from Vietnam, amnesty for draft evaders, a guaranteed minimum income for all, 37% reduction in military spending, and supported the Equal Rights Amendment. All of these were the darling positions of the Far Left, but not mainstream America.
Losing the election badly as in 49 states to 1 and Nixon got 60% of the popular vote, the Dems soon launch an investigation into Watergate that culminates in GOP leaders informing Nixon that the House and Senate had the votes to dump him, so Nixon was ousted.
2020 - GOP incumbent President, while less than universally personally popular, enjoys widespread job approval while he oversees a strong economy, strong job market, opens relations with NORKS and China and fights to contain Iran, eliminate ISIS, and control our borders all the while improving trade, jobs, energy independence. Trump appoints Two Supreme Court Justices and has a shot at one or two more in the next four years
Dems counter by trying to impeach and remove Trump before they have a case (which will fail miserable) and marching so far to the Left that Karl Marx wouldn't recognize them. The assortment of clowns they are running excite no one. They are so desperate knowing that more Supreme Court positions are likely on the line that will do anything including the present self destruction of the Party to unseat Trump. Like McGovern, they have picked issues like Medicare for All, Open Borders, Climate Change etc. that mainstream America is not interested in.I'm not saying Trump can win 60% of the popular vote because he can't. NY and CA alone will prevent that and No way Trump takes 49 states, but he will not have less electoral votes than 2016, and likely pick up a few more. Sleep well!

Got all that, but the Chinese have no reason to give an inch over the next 10 months if they don't want to. Their trade surplus has been reduced, but still stands at something like $285 billion. In otherwords, they could hold out IF they thought there was a chance of Biden was getting in. We all acknowledge this is Phase I, and the tough negotiations are still in progress.

I wish I felt as certain about congress. What did the Odds Makers in Vegas agree on in 2016? As of today, the Las Vegas odds makers are betting markets drastically favor Clinton to win. They give Democratic nominee a 72%-odds of becoming the next president, according to Bovada Sportsbook, with Trump at 28% odds to win.
