Quick update. I talked to Andy Horvath and he is going to rechamber it and do an action job.

Pacecar: What a fine pistol you have there - I am envious!
Enjoy it.
And this - "No damn keyhole abomination"!
I love that.
I would no more buy a Smith & Wesson revolver with "the damn keyhole abomination" than I would vote for a demonrat!

[Linked Image from i1083.photobucket.com] Have a 4" 16-4 and found an extra cylinder that`s being opened to 327 as we speak. Also found a 631 that loves a 85gr jfp and 3.7grs of Titegroup... Great caliber[Linked Image from i1083.photobucket.com]

I would not do a thing to that piece. If tweaking is desired it would be on a Single Six. Just my thoughts. To note, I own a Harton 41 Special Single Five. His first built.

The Smith M-16-4" is a very special find. I have been loading mine with some 115 and 120 gr bullets and have been quite pleased with both the accuracy and the results downrange.

Finding another is unlikely at this stage. I did find a Ruger SSM in .32 H & R which is also capable, but the sights are not optimum.

Speaking of sights, does anybody know of an after-market target-type sight that would fit a Smith M 31?
